Berry Global has introduced its new DecoFusion™ tube technology, designed to improve branding and sustainability in the packaging market. The patented technology allows for 360° uninterrupted artwork and features thinner sidewalls, reducing material usage while enhancing the consumer experience.
The new tubes are constructed using a hybrid technology process that combines high-resolution graphics with a premium feel. “This revolutionary tube delivers spectacular graphics, a better consumer experience, and sustainability benefits, all in one package,” said Brian Jacobi, Chief Commercial Officer for Closures, Bottles & Specialties at Berry Global. “DecoFusion helps brands stand out on the shelf and improves sustainability by incorporating recycled content and using less material.”
DecoFusion is built on a unique manufacturing cell within Berry’s fully integrated supply chain, allowing for seamless production from resin pellet to finished tube. The process includes photorealistic print quality, over-the-shoulder printing, and options for flexography, silkscreen, and foils. The design also allows for easy integration into existing filling lines, ensuring efficient conversion.
The new tube technology is made entirely of polyethylene and can incorporate up to 75% post-consumer recycled (PCR) content, contributing to sustainability. Berry claims that the tubes can reduce material usage by up to 27%, which is estimated to lower greenhouse gas emissions by approximately 167 metric tons annually, equivalent to removing 39 gasoline-powered cars from the road for one year.
The DecoFusion tube is a step forward in both consumer appeal and environmental responsibility, offering brands a new solution to meet growing sustainability demands while maintaining premium quality and visual impact.
